Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel.
This petition seeks the following reliefs.
"i) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to promote the petitioner as per service rule.
ii) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus commanding the respondents to correct the discrepancy of the salary and pay the arrears of the salary to the petitioner."
From a reading of the order dated 13 July 2016, the Court notes that the petitioner was reinstated in service only from that date. Although learned counsel for the petitioner was granted an opportunity to amend the reliefs and seek appropriate consequential reliefs in tune with the principal prayers made in the writ petition, learned counsel chose not to avail of this opportunity. Undisputedly, as long as the order dated 13 July 2016 remains untouched, the prayer for promotion would not merit consideration.
The writ petition is dismissed.
