Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record.
The case of the petitioner is that his arm license was cancelled by District Magistrate vide order dated 24.06.2015 against which he has preferred Appeal under Section 18 of the Arms License Act, 1959 before the Commissioner and appeal was allowed by the Commissioner vide order dated 27.10.2016 with a certain direction to the District Magistrate. Thereafter, petitioner has submitted an application before the District Magistrate on 10.11.2016 for issuance of license which is still pending before the District Magistrate for final order.
Learned Standing Counsel has informed that the application of the petitioner shall be decided expeditiously.
Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, the petition is disposed of with a direction to District Magistrate to decide the application of the petitioner strictly in accordance with law within a period of three months from the date of production of certified copy of this order.
It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated the case on merits.
