JUDGMENT / ORDER

Shaffique,J
This writ petition is filed seeking police protection. The petitioner complains about his son, the 3rd respondent, who is alleged to be in association with the criminals and is a drug addict. According to the petitioner, 3rd respondent, along with certain other persons, had attacked the petitioner and damaged his property. It is further stated that though the police had come after three hours and taken the 3rd respondent to custody, he was later released. Petitioner apprehends that the 3rd respondent, along with certain other persons, may commit offence against the petitioner and therefore he has approached this Court seeking police protection.
2. Learned State Attorney, on instructions, would submit that on the complaint received from the petitioner, a crime has been registered. Third respondent is now absconding and is not available in the locality.
3. Having regard to the aforesaid submission, we are of the view that the issue between the third respondent and the petitioner is apparently a family dispute. However, if there is any offence committed or attempt to commit any offence, it is for the police to enquire into the matter and do the needful. Accordingly, we dispose of the writ petition as under:
If there is any offence committed or attempt to commit an offence, on the complaint of the petitioner, police shall enquire into the matter and do the needful, in accordance with law.
