The petitioner seeks consideration of his claim for appointment under the Dying-in-Harness Rules, 1974. Submission is that the petitioner's father died on 23.8.2017. Soon after his death, mother of the petitioner moved an application for consideration of candidature of the petitioner on compassionate appointment. Submission is that the mother of the petitioner has given No objection in his favour and the claim of the petitioner has been processed to the some extent, but the same has not been finalized till date. As the petitioner's family is facing financial crises, respondents are required to consider the same, expeditiously.
To this submission, learned standing counsel raises no objection.
In view thereof, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim of the petitioner, the present petition is being disposed of with the direction to respondent no.3 to decide the claim of the petitioner expeditiously, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of submission of a certified copy of this order.
