JUDGMENT / ORDER

Ashok Bhushan, Ag.CJ
Heard learned counsel for the petitioners. No notice is being issued to respondents 4 to 6 in view of the judgment being passed today.
2. By this writ petition, the petitioner has approached this Court for a writ of mandamus to give effective and meaningful protection to the life of the petitioners from the threat of respondents 4 to 6.
3. 4th respondent is the father-in-law of the 1st petitioner. It is submitted by the petitioners that there is a matrimonial dispute between the 1st petitioner and his wife and a divorce petition has already been filed by the 1st petitioner. It is further submitted that a petition under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005 is filed before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Thiruvananthapuram against the petitioners as well. Though the petitioners submitted a complaint before respondents 2 and 3, so far, no action has been taken in that regard.
4. We only observe that if there is any offence committed or any attempt to commit offence, it shall be open for the petitioners to file appropriate complaint before the 3rd respondent, who shall look into the same and do the needful, in accordance with law.
With the above observation, this writ petition is closed.
