For Petitioner : Mr.G.Peranban For Respondent : Mr.C.Emalias, APP ORDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to secure the accused for interrogation and complete the investigation and file the final report in Crime No.1065/2014 pending on his file within the specific time limit.
2. The case of the petitioner is that he has lodged a complaint against one S.Rangarajan before the Commissioner of Police, Egmore, Chennai on 09.04.2012. Subsequently, pursuant to the direction of this Court dated 13.02.2014 made in Crl.OP.No.2612/2014, the said complaint was registered as FIR in Crime No.1065/2014 on the file of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Sections 406 and 420 IPC. Thereafter, no steps have been taken by the respondent to complete the investigation and file final report. Therefore, the petitioner has come up with the present petition for the above stated relief.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.1065 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
