The sole relief claimed in the instant petition is for issuing a direction to the Prescribed Authority, before which release Case No. 13/2012 is pending, to decide the same, within a specified time frame.
The proceedings in question are under Section 21(1)(b) of U.P. Act No. 13 of 1972. A perusal of the order sheet reveals that the matter is being fixed for recording of the evidence of the defendant.
Having regard to the fact that the release application is pending since the year 2012, the instant petition is disposed of by directing the Prescribed Authority to make serious endeavour to decide the same expeditiously, by fixing short dates, without granting unnecessary adjournments to the parties.
