1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents.
2. The petitioner prays for the following reliefs:
"(i) issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no.3 to issue a caste certificate of OBC (Jat Sikh) to the petitioner as early as possible;
(ii) issue any other suitable writ, order or direction which this Hon'ble Court may deem fit and proper under the facts and circumstances of the case;
(iii) award the costs of the petition to the petitioner."
3. Vide order dated 22.06.2021 petitioner was directed to file supplementary affidavit enclosing the receipt of online application.
4. Learned counsel for petitioner states that he has applied on 8.3.2021 for issuance of caste certificate but till date it has not been issued.
5. Learned Standing Counsel states that due to panchayat elections the said certificate was not issued to the petitioner and in case his application in this connection is pending that shall be considered at the earliest.
6. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, we dispose of this writ petition with direction to respondent no.3 to consider the case of petitioner for grant of caste certificate and in case the petitioner belongs to the O.B.C. (Jat Sikh community), the certificate may be issued to him but not later than 30.09.2021. This petition may also be taken as an additional ground for grant of caste certificate. The respondent will not dispose of the application on technical ground.
7. With the above observations/directions the writ petition is disposed of.
