JUDGMENT / ORDER

Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent.
2. With the consent of the learned counsel on either side, the main writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
3. The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to register the compromise decree dated 08.04.2017, which was recorded in O.S.No.88 of 2016 on the file of the Principal District Court, Cuddalore and recorded as Lok Adalat Case No.604/2017 at Cuddalore.

4. Along with the representation dated 27.04.2017, the petitioner submitted the compromise decree and the Lok Adalat Award before the respondent for registration. According to the petitioner, the respondent has not registered the document so far. Since the petitioner has submitted the document at the earliest point of time for registration, the respondent is bound to register the document on payment of necessary stamp duty.
5. Mr.A.N.Thambidurai, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent submitted that the respondent may be directed to register the document on payment of necessary stamp duty.
6. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, I direct the respondent to register the compromise decree dated 08.04.2017, which was recorded in O.S.No.88 of 2016 on the file of the Principal District Court, Cuddalore and recorded as Lok Adalat Case No.604/2017 at Cuddalore, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With this observation, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
