JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to give police protection to the petitioner, based on the representation dated 14.12.2016.
2. The matter relates to a family dispute. The petitioner is the wife of one of Gnanamani and she is living separately from her husband. It is stated in the affidavit that her husband used to attack her and attempted to murder her. Since the petitioner apprehends threat from her husband, she has filed this petition, seeking police protection.
3. It is represented by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that the petitioner has filed a petition for divorce before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Tirupattur, Vellore District.
4. Heard the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents, who with due instructions from the respondents, submitted that there is no such threat to the petitioner as claimed.
5. In view of the submissions made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor and also the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner that the petitioner has filed a petition for divorce against her husband, this Court is of the view that at this point of time, there is no necessary to give police protection to the petitioner.
6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is closed.
