Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
Present writ petition has been filed for a direction upon the respondent No.2 to grant the License of NPB Revolver/Pistol to the petitioner for the protection of his own life.
Mother of the petitioner was murdered by unknown person on 20.8.2016 and in respect of the incident the FIR was lodged against 4 persons. After her death, petitioner has moved an application before the District Magistrate on 11.11.2016 for grant of firearms license which is still pending for consideration and no order has yet been passed.
It is the responsibility of the Authority concerned to make necessary arrangements for security of petitioner but instead of that no action has been taken. Therefore, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.2 District Magistrate, Mainpuri to decide the application of the petitioner within a period of three months from the date of production of certified copy of this order strictly in accordance with law.
It is made clear that the Court has not adjudicated the case on merits.
