Heard learned counsel for the petitioner; the learned Standing Counsel for the State-respondents; and perused the record.
The prayer of the petitioner is that a direction be issued upon the respondent No.2 (District Magistrate, Allahabad) to consider and decide the arms licence application submitted by the petitioner, which is stated to be pending.
Without expressing any opinion as regards the merits of the claim of the petitioner, this petition is disposed of by giving liberty to the petitioner to make a comprehensive representation before the respondent no.2, annexing therewith copy of the application submitted for grant of arms licence along with proof of deposit of the fee chargeable for the said purpose as also proof of completion of other formalities in that regard. If any such application is filed along with certified copy of this order, the respondent no.2 shall call for report from his office and take an appropriate decision in the matter, in accordance with law, preferably, within a period of three months from the date of filing of such application.
