JUDGMENT / ORDER

The Hon’ble Sri Justice C.V.Nagarjuna Reddy Writ Petition No.36772 of 2014 Dated 02.12.2014 Between: Rafeeka Abid …Petitioner And Telangana State Northern Power Distribution Company Limited, rep. by its Chairman & Managing Director Warangal and another …Respondents Counsel for the petitioner: Mr.K.Ramakanth Reddy Counsel for the respondents: ---
The Court made the following:
Order:
This Writ Petition is filed questioning the electricity bills for the months of October and November, 2014, whereunder a sum of Rs.10,519.09 ps., was demanded from the petitioner.
Under Section 42 (5) of the Electricity Act, 2003 (for short ‘the Act’), the distribution licensee shall establish a forum for redressal of grievances of the consumers, and the petitioner has the remedy of approaching the said forum. Under sub- section (6) thereof, the petitioner has a further remedy of making a representation before the Ombudsman for redressal of his grievance, in the event he does not succeed before the forum constituted under sub-Section (5).
In view of availability of the above noted effective alternative remedies to the petitioner, I am not inclined to entertain this Writ Petition for adjudication on merits. Hence, the Writ Petition is dismissed and the petitioner is relegated to the said fora.
As a sequel, WPMP.No.46028 of 2014, filed by the petitioner for interim relief, is disposed of as infructuous.
