JUDGMENT / ORDER

THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE C.V.NAGARJUNA REDDY Writ Petition Nos.25095, 25576, 25804, 25932, 25933, 26247, 26444, 26832, 27034 and 27226 of 2014 Between: R.Veena And Dated 12th November, 2014 …Petitioner (W.P.No.25095 of 2014) The Osmania University, Hyderabad, rep.by its Registrar and another …Respondents (W.P.No.25095 of 2014) Counsel for the petitioner: Sri C.Kalyan Rao (W.P.No.25095 of 2014) Counsel for respondent No.1: Mrs.G.Jaya Reddy (W.P.No.25095 of 2014) The Court made the following:
ORDER:
This batch of writ petitions is filed for a Mandamus to declare the action of the respondents in detaining the petitioners in II/III year of their respective Courses on the ground that they have more than 12 backlogs as illegal and arbitrary.
At the hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioners has not disputed that as per the Regulations of the University, if a student has more than 12 backlogs, he/she is not entitled to promotion to the next year. It is also not disputed by the learned counsel that their clients have more than 12 backlogs.
In the face of these admitted facts, the detention of the petitioners in II/III year of their respective Courses, which is in conformity with the University Regulations, cannot be termed as illegal or arbitrary. This Court cannot entertain any writ petition and grant relief, which runs contrary to the University Regulations.
Therefore, I do not find any merit in these writ petitions and they are accordingly dismissed.
As a sequel to dismissal of the writ petitions, interim orders, if any, granted shall stand vacated and the pending interlocutory applications shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
