JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has filed the above Writ Petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider and pass orders in the petitioner's application dated 31.08.2016 for issuance of patta within a time frame.
2. Mr.K.Govi Ganesan, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that inspite of the petitioner's application dated 31.08.2016 for issuance of patta, the 3rd respondent has not issued the same yet.
3. Mr.R.S.Selvam, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents and submitted that the 3rd respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's application and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law.
4. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, taking into consideration the limited prayer sought for in the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 3rd respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 31.08.2016 and pass orders for issuance of patta within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. With these observations, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
