The Sub Collector, Namakkal District, Namakkal ..Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st Respondent herein to grant permission to conduct Jallikattu event on 02.02.2014 or any other subsequent date as fixed by this Court in the festival of Sri Pidari Amman Temple festival as part of the temple festival situated at Alanganatham Village, Namakkal Taluk and District by considering Petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2014.
For Petitioner : No Appearance For Respondents : Mr.K.V.Dhanapalan Special Government Pleader O R D E R [Order of the Court was made by M.VENUGOPAL, J.] Heard the Learned Special Government Pleader appearing for Respondents 1 and 2.

It comes to be known that the Petitioner has filed the present Writ of Mandamus praying for passing of an order by this Court in directing the 1st Respondent / District Collector, Namakkal District to accord permission to conduct Jallikattu event on 02.02.2014 or any other subsequent date, as fixed by this Court in the festival of Sri Pidari Amman Temple, as part of the festival situated at Alanganatham village, Namakkal Taluk by considering the Petitioner's representation dated 08.01.2014.
3. This Court, on going through the contents of the representation of the Petitioner dated 08.01.2014 addressed to the 1st Respondent / District Collector, Namakkal District is of the considered view that the Petitioner has sought permission to perform Bull Bait Programme in the above said Village at Sripidari Amman Temple Open space either on 02.02.2014 or any other date as he deems fit and proper.
4. In view of the fact that the permission seeking for the conduct of Bull festival programme on 02.02.2014 had already expired or elapsed, this Court comes to a resultant conclusion that nothing survives for adjudication in the present Writ Petition, as such, the Writ Petition fails.
5. In fine, the Writ Petition is dismissed as infructuous one. It is made abundantly clear that the dismissal of the present Writ Petition will not preclude the Petitioner to seek appropriate relief before the competent forum, in the manner known to law and in accordance with law in respect of future years to come, if he is so desires / advised. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, Connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
