JUDGMENT / ORDER

2. The Inspector of Police, Poraiyur Police Station, Nagapattinam, Nagapattinam District. .. Respondents Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C. to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to issue directions for preventing unlawful acts and provide due protection to the petitioner.

It is the case of the petitioner that he is the owner of the lands in R.S.Nos.451/2, 452/3A and 451/7A measuring to an extent of 0.63.0 Hectares in Pillaiperumanallur Village, Tharangambadi Taluk, Nagapattinam District. He was granted permission for quarrying Savudu earth in the said lands by order of the District Collector dated 20.01.2017. Thereafter, he made all arrangements for commencement of work, However, some third parties have attempted to prevent the petitioners from doing the same and they are causing unnecessary problem to the petitioner. Hence, the petitioner made a representation dated 26.05.2017 to the first respondent requesting to take action against them and provide police protection. Since no action has been taken on the said representation, he has come up with the present petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the respondents to consider the representation dated 26.05.2017 made by the petitioner with regard to grant of police protection, and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law and also in the light of the order passed by the District Collector dated 20.01.2017. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
