JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the respondent Corporation directed the petitioner, the wife of former employee (driver) of the respondent Corporation to refund the monthly pension sanctioned to her late husband for the months of May and June, 2013. It is not in dispute that the petitioner's husband died on 25.05.2013. In compliance with the directions given by the authorities, the petitioner is said to have refunded the amounts received towards pension for the months of May and June, 2013.
3. It is the contention of the petitioner that she is entitled to monthly pension from 01.06.2013. Since the petitioner's husband died on 25.05.2013, she is also entitled for the refund of pension due to her husband for the month of May, 2013. Under those circumstances, the petitioner is said to have made Ext.P2 representation to the authorities concerned. Ventilating her grievance that so far no action has been taken by the authorities based on Ext.P2, the petitioner has approached this Court.
4. The learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Corporation, on instructions, has submitted that initially the respondent Corporation has not been duly informed about the actual date of death of the petitioner's husband and essentially on that count, confusion arose leading to recovery of certain amounts. She has, however, submitted that now the respondent authorities are taking steps to settle the family pension of the petitioner from 01.06.2013, apart from refunding the pension of her husband for the month of May, 2013.
In the facts and circumstances, I do not see any issue remaining to be adjudicated. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent Corporation to take appropriate decision with regard to the family pension to be provided to the petitioner as well as the refund of pensionary amount for the month of May, 2013 based on Ext.P2 representation, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
