This Writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the first respondent i.e., the Agricultural Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary to Government, Chennai to pass appropriate orders on the proposals sent by the Commissioner of Agriculture, Chennai, in his letter No.VaKaMu5/98993/2014, dated 08.07.2016 regarding sanction of the expenditure towards the Jeep No.TN 63-G-0658 incurred due to the accident held on 13.08.2014 within a specified time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
2. Heard, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
3. Mr.N.S.Karthikeyan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the Writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.
4. Having regard to the limited scope of the prayer in the Writ petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the petitioner's case, this Court is inclined to issue the following direction:-
?The first respondent is directed to consider the proposals sent by the Commissioner of Agriculture, Chennai, in his letter No.VaKaMu5/98993/2014, dated 08.07.2016 regarding sanction of the expenditure towards the Jeep No.TN 63-G-0658 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.?
5. Accordingly, the Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
