Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Standing Counsel for the respondents.
The prayer of the petitioners in this writ petition is that the respondents be directed not to grant/issue new permit to anyone on the route Syohara-Noorpur-Chhajlait and Bijnor-Noorpur-Chhajlait except in accordance with law.
The petitioners are already having a stage carriage permit for the aforesaid route and it appears that in order to avoid competition they do not want any new permit to be issued to anyone else.
It is well settled that the competitors have no right in such matters. Moreover, it is a policy matter as to the numbers of permits to be issued or not.
In view of aforesaid facts and circumstances, the petition is misconceived and is dismissed.
