There is a photograph annexed to this petition to show the fact that the petitioners have got married. I am not going to sanctity of the marriage. Supplementary affidavit, filed in support of the writ petition, is also vague.
The police will enquire into the veracity of the marriage and if the police comes to the decision that the petitioners have performed their marriage, they may be granted protection in the light of observations made by the Apex Court in Lata Singh vs. State of U.P., AIR 2006 SC 2522.
