JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioners are students of the 4th year M.Tech course under the respondent-University. The petitioners completed the course in the year 2014 and the 4th semester examinations are going to be scheduled. However, the petitioners will not be permitted to appear, since they have not cleared the earlier years. 2. In fact, there was some delay in the conduct of examinations and the supplementary examinations of the 1st semester was held recently and the results published only now, after the last date prescribed for submission of the fee for the 4th semester examination. The petitioners also had failed in some of the papers in the 2nd semester examinations, the supplementary examinations of which have not been held till now. In such circumstances, the W.P.(C) Nos.29975 of 2014 - V, 30030 of 2014 and 30011 of 2014 -B 2 petitioners pray that they may be permitted to appear for the 4th semester examinations, subject, however to the result of the 2nd semester supplementary examinations. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioners that they have already remitted the fees and only hall tickets are to be issued.

In the context of the delay which was occasioned on the part of the University, it is only proper that the petitioners be permitted to appear for the 4th semester examinations, provided the petitioners have all qualified in the 1st semester examinations in accordance with the results published as of now. It is directed so. The appearance shall be provisional and depend on the result of the 2nd semester supplementary examinations. The results shall be withheld till then.
The writ petitions are disposed of as above.
