The petitioner, Secretary of the 4th respondent society has been placed under suspension by Exhibit P9 order with effect from 07.07.2014. The petitioner has challenged her suspension before the 5th respondent Board of Directors by preferring Exhibit P11 appeal. The said appeal has not been disposed of till date. The petitioner also has a claim that she is entitled to be paid subsistence allowance under Rule 198(6) of the Kerala Co-operative Societies Rules, 1969 ('the Rules' for short). The petitioner seeks the issue of appropriate directions to expedite Exhibit P11 and for payment of subsistence allowance. 2. In view of the limited relief sought, I do not consider it necessary to issue notice to respondents 4 to 6. The Government Pleader enters appearance for respondents 1 to 3.

This writ petition is therefore disposed of directing the 5th respondent to consider Exhibit P11 appeal, in accordance with law and to pass appropriate orders thereon, after affording an opportunity of being heard to the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible and at any rate within a period of two months of the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. The claim of the petitioner for subsistence allowance under Rule 198(6) of the Rules can also be considered by the 5th respondent and necessary orders shall be passed in the said regard also.
