The counsel for the petitioner states that the period of lease is 29 years and 11 months, which has been illegally enhanced to more than 30 years. He submitted that the stamp duty has been paid for the period of 29 years and 11 months. Therefore, the demand is wholly unjustified.

Learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. He prays for and is granted four weeks time to file counter affidavit. Rejoinder affidavit may be filed within two weeks thereafter.
