The petitioner was the licensee of Toddy Shop Nos.7, 8, 10, 12/11-12 in Group II of Thiruvalla Excise Range. This writ petition has been filed with the prayer to issue a writ in the nature of mandamus or any appropriate order directing the respondents to renew the license of the petitioner with respect to the aforesaid toddy shops for the period 2012-13. This Court passed an interim order on 8.5.2012 directing the second respondent to consider the application for renewal of license submitted by the petitioner in the light of the interim order passed by this court in Crl.M.C.No.1196 of 2012 as also in the light of the findings in Ext.P3. When this matter is taken up for consideration, the learned Government Pleader, on written instructions, submitted that licence in respect of the aforesaid toddy shops for the period 2012-13 has been renewed up to 2013-14 based on interim order dated 18.10.2013. In the light of the said submission and taking into account the prayer in this writ petition, nothing survives for further W.P.(C).10677/12 2 consideration. In such circumstances, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
