JUDGMENT / ORDER

RAMACHANDRA MENON, J. This writ petition is filed with a prayer to issue a writ of mandamus or appropriate order or direction directing the respondents 1 to 3 to grant adequate and efficient police protection for the smooth conduct of election of Parampathukulangara Sree Mahakshethram - Pavumpa Kaali Dewaswom Manappally North P.O., Karunagappally, Kollam District on 1.6.2014 to be held Dewaswom Sadyalayam as per Ext.P1.
2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is constrained to approach this Court now because of threat raised by respondents 4 and 5 with regard to the election of the committee of the Dewaswom which is scheduled to be conducted on 1.6.2014. It is stated that respondents 4 and 5 are trying to manhandle the returning officer and threatening that they will not allow to conduct the election on 1.6.2014. Petitioner has preferred W.P(. C)No.13590 OF 2014 : 2 :
Ext.P2 application before the third respondent for granting adequate police protection for smooth conducting of the election. The Returning officer has also filed Ext.P4 representation before the second respondent seeking police protection.
3. Learned Government Pleader, on instruction, submits that the police has already received Ext.P4 and necessary steps are being taken. There is no threat to the law and order situation.
The above submission is recorded. No further orders are called for. Writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
