Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Senior Government Pleader.

This Writ Petition has been filed alleging police harassment seeking a direction to the first respondent not to harass the petitioner and further direct the fourth respondent to consider Exhibit P1 to take appropriate action against respondents 1 and 2. Petitioner is a lottery agency and selling lottery for the last four years. Her case is that she was conducting lottery business near the fishing harbour of Goshree Bridge from 2010 onwards. Allegation is that the Police authorities came and removed her table and umbrella.

The Government Pleader, who was asked to obtain instruction, submits that information was received from WP(C).3558/14 2 the Panchayat that Police help for removing certain persons, who are conducting business on the road obstructing smooth flow of traffic. He submits that on request of the Panchayat, those persons, who were conducting business on the road, were removed.
We do not find that it is a case of any Police harassment. The Police has acted on a request made by the Panchayat for the purpose of smooth traffic on the road. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed.
