JUDGMENT / ORDER

Petitioners are the accused in C.C. No. 561/2011 on the file of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-II, Thiruvananthapuram. They are alleged to have committed the offence under Section 498(A) read with Section 34 I.P.C.
2. The prayer in this petition is to quash the proceedings in the Criminal Case on the ground that the matter has been settled between the parties.
2. Heard.
3. The de facto-complainant, the wife of the first petitioner and the second respondent in this case has filed an affidavit to the effect that the matter has been settled and the Criminal Case against the petitioners need not be proceeded with.
I have perused the affidavit. I am satisfied that there are grounds justifying quashing of the proceedings in the Criminal Case against the petitioners.

In the result, this petition is allowed and the proceedings in C.C. No. 561/2011 on the file of the Judicial First Class Court II, Thiruvananthapuram are quashed.
