Heard learned counsel for the parties.
By means of the present writ petition, the petitioner is seeking early disposal of the application moved by the petitioner in the year 2012 for grant of firearm licence.
With the promulgation of the Arms Rules, 2016 w.e.f. 15.7.2016, the petitioner is required to move a fresh application in the prescribed proforma before the competent authority.
In view thereof, no mandamus can be issued on the pending application of the year 2012.
It is open for the petitioner to move a fresh application which shall be dealt with in accordance with the Arms Rules, 2016.
