JUDGMENT / ORDER

Ashok Bhushan, Ag. C.J. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, learned State Attorney and the learned counsel appearing for respondents 5 and 6.
2. By this writ petition, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking for a mandamus directing respondents 2 and 4 to render adequate and sufficient police protection to the petitioner, his wife and minor children for their peaceful living in their house No. XIV/46A of Manjeri Grama Panchayath.
3. Petitioner's case is that respondents 5, his brother-in-law, and 6, son of 5th respondent, are causing obstruction for the peaceful living of the petitioner and his family.
4. Respondents 5 and 6 submit that there was dispute regarding a pathway between the parties, which was amicably settled. They further submit that criminal cases have been registered against both parties. They also submit that there is no issue pertaining to any threat or causing any harm to the petitioner and the issue is regarding fixation of a gate by the respondents.
5. Be that as it may, if there is any dispute regarding W.P(C) No. 31786 of 2014 -: 2 :-
the property including fixation of gate, the parties are at liberty to approach a competent civil court to redress their grievances. In so far as law and order situation is concerned, it is for the police authorities to maintain law and order. If there is any offence committed or attempted to commit, it shall be open for the petitioner to approach the said authority.
With the above observation, the writ petition is closed.
