The petitioner in this petition has challenged two demand notices dated 7th February, 2018 and 29th May, 2018, whereby a sum of Rs.89,32,000/- and Rs.1,18,03,000/- have been demanded. Learned counsel submits before this Court that in view of the earlier demand notice which was issued to him on 27th June, 2017, he has already made deposits. Further notices were issued on 7th May, 2015 and 8th July, 2015 in respect whereof he has already made deposits and to that effect he has brought the documents on record. Learned counsel for the respondents submits that against the demand notice, the petitioner may approach the appropriate authority in respect of the deposits that he has already made.
In view of the above, we hereby direct the petitioner to approach the 2nd respondent with all the documents of deposits that he has already made towards the outstanding dues claimed by the authorities. In the event, the petitioner approaches the authority explaining his position in respect of the two demand notices impugned in the writ petition, the authority shall consider the explanation/ representation made by the petitioner and thereafter pass a fresh order regarding the outstanding dues. The competent authority shall pass an appropriate order within a period of two months from the date of presentation of a certified copy of this order.
The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of.
