This petition coming on for Orders, this day, the court made the following:
O R D E R Sri.Shyam Sundar.M.S, learned Counsel for petitioner.
Sri.V.C.Jagannath, learned Asst. Solicitor General for the respondent.
In view of submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, requirement of filing translated version of the document is dispensed with.
2. Perused records. The petition is admitted for hearing.
3. In this writ petition, petitioner, inter alia, seeks a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to renew the passport of the petitioner.
4. After perusal of the record and after hearing learned counsel for the respondent, I deem it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition with a direction that the application of the petitioner seeking renewal of the passport is pending consideration before the competent authority, the competent authority shall decide the aforesaid application by a speaking order within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order passed today. It is made clear that this court has not expressed any opinion on the merit of the case.
Accordingly, the petition is disposed of.
