PRAYER: W.P.No.478 of 2005 filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the order of the first respondent Tribunal dated 09.09.2004 in O.A.No.279 of 2003 and to quash the same and direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to reconsider the ratio fixed as 19:1 for the promotion to the post of Junior Engineer from the post of Draughtsman Gr.II and Overseer.
W.P.No.479 of 2005 filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the order of the first respondent Tribunal dated 09.09.2004 in O.A.No.843 of 2003 and to quash the same and direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to consider the members of the petitioner Association for the posts of Junior Engineer after fixing an appropriate ratio for promotion from Draughtsman Gr.II and Overseer Cadre.

When the writ petitions came up for hearing on 22 March 2017, the learned Special Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the Union Territory of Puducherry submitted that nothing survives in the writ petitions on account of the promotion given to the petitioners. The learned counsel for the petitioners therefore took time to take instructions.
