JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner filed HMOP No.284 of 2010 before the Subordinate Court, Poonamallee praying for a decree of divorce. In the said original proceeding, the respondent filed an application in I.A.No.197 of 2012 claiming interim maintenance. The trial Court allowed the said application and a direction was given to the petitioner to pay a sum of Rs.5,000/- as maintenance, besides a sum of Rs.5,000/- towards litigation expenses. The said order is under challenge in this civil revision petition. K.K.SASIDHARAN,J.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondent.
3. The proceedings in HMOP No.284 of 2010 was instituted by the petitioner for divorce. The wife, who was shown as the respondent in the said application filed the interim application for maintenance. The trial Court considering the income of the petitioner and the contention of the respondent allowed the said application by directing the petitioner to pay maintenance. There are no materials produced by the petitioner to take a different view. There is absolutely no merit in the contention taken by the petitioner.
In the upshot, I dismiss the civil revision petition. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
