JUDGMENT / ORDER

The petitioner has launched a prosecution in STC No.1554/2014 before the Judicial Magistrate, Vedasanthur, against the respondent for offence under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. Now, the petitioner is before this Court for a direction to the trial Court to expeditiously complete the trial in STC No.1554/2015.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner.
3.From the docket orders of the trial Court, it is seen as follows: ?21.10.2016 complainant absent. Petition filed. Process paid T/s B/w accused. 02.12.2016 Complainant absent. Petition allowed. B/w pending. Call on 03.02.2017 29.12.2016 Accused summoned want reexamined. Petition filed warrant recalled with a condition to produce surety on or before call on 09.01.2017.
09.01.2017 Accused complainant present. Surety not produced for furnishing surety.?
4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the accused has not furnished sureties till date.
5. If the accused fails to furnish the sureties, it is open to the trial Court to remand the accused in custody. The trial Court is directed to complete the trial in STC No.1554/2014 within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With the above direction, this petition is closed.
