JUDGMENT / ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel for the respondents, apart from perusing the record. Since the issue lies in a narrow compass, this Court proposes to dispose of the writ petition at the admission stage itself. 2. Briefly stated, the petitioner, a driver in the respondent Corporation, is said to have been suffering from Lumbar Spondilosis, Parkinson disease and mild cognitive impairment, as has been certified through Exhibits P1 to P3 and P5. In that context, the petitioner has filed Exhibit P7 representation before the first respondent for change of category. The record reveals that presently, in the light of the disability the petitioner has been suffering from, he has been given, though for a limited period, light duty.
WPC 35104/14 2 In the facts and circumstances, having regard to the respective submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, disposes of the writ petition with a direction to the first respondent to consider Exhibit P7 representation of the petitioner in accordance with law and pass appropriate orders thereon, as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment. It is made clear that petitioner shall be continued in the light duty until Exhibit P7 is disposed of by the first respondent.
