HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE P. NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION No. 9666 of 2014 ORDER:
Petitioner was issued passport bearing No. B1621066, wherein in the date of birth column, the date of birth was typed as 23.3.1974, whereas, according to petitioner her date of birth is 6.4.1977. Having noticed wrong entry of date of birth, she submitted an online application on 13.1.2014 enclosing the birth certificate issued by Greater Visakapatnam Municipal Corporation and the said application was acknowledged by the passport authority. As per the computer generated information, petitioner has to appear before the passport authority on 7.3.2014 at 2.30 pm. According to the petitioner, she appeared before the Passport Authority and produced the relevant documents and thereafter no further information is given regarding the status of her application, hence this application.

Learned Assistant Solicitor General, on instructions submitted that apparently petitioner has not appeared before the Passport Authority on 7.3.2014 and the records of the office of the Passport Authority did not disclose appearance of the petitioner on the said date. If the petitioner had appeared, necessary documentation would be generated and a specific number would be assigned to her and no such number is mentioned by the petitioner and no material is available on record to show that petitioner has appeared before the Passport authority on 7.3.2014.
3. Learned counsel for petitioner submits that petitioner is willing to appear before the Passport Authority whenever it is convenient for the Authority and application of the petitioner may be processed as expeditiously as possible.

Having regard to the same and as agreed by both the counsel, petitioner shall appear before the Passport Authority on 3.12.2014 at 2.30 pm with all relevant information including the computer generated online application submitted and the Passport Authority shall consider the petitioner’s request on the said date and take necessary further action in the matter and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law within a period of two weeks thereafter.
Subject to above directions, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
Sequel to the same, miscellaneous petitions, if any, stand dismissed.
