This petition has been filed for a direction upon the respondents to renew the contract entered into between the UPSRTC and petitioner on the post of conductor. Admittedly, the term of contract was valid till 10.07.2017. A period of more than five years has expired since expiry of term of the contract.
This Court in exercise of writ jurisdiction can not extend the period of contract which is based upon mutual consent of both the parties.
Writ petition accordingly fails and is dismissed. Dismissal of this petition, however, will not preclude the petitioner in approaching the Corporation as and when fresh applications are invited.
