The petitioner, Paul Antony filed this writ petition through his power of attorney holder. He purchased an extent of 1.83 Ares of property comprised in survey No.144/9 (Re survey No. 45/7) of Manakunnam Village. Subsequent to its purchase the petitioner allegedly renovated shop rooms situated in the said property. It is not discernible from the pleadings in this writ petition as to whether the petitioner has effected such renovation after obtaining a proper permit from the respondents. It is also not discernible from the pleadings as to what was the extent and nature of the renovation works. Be that as it may, the grievance of the petitioner is that after its renovation he submitted an application for assignment of building number. The submission of such application is evidenced from Ext.P3 receipt. The grievance is that despite the receipt of the application for assigning the building number the 2nd respondent is not considering the same. The short prayer of the W.P.(C) No.13207 of 2014 2 petitioner is for a direction to the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on the application submitted by him for the grant of building number. Taking note of the short prayer made by the petitioner and the nature of the order I propose to pass in this writ petition it is absolutely unnecessary to issue notice to the second respondent in this proceedings. In the said circumstances having heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government, without making any observations as to the merits of the entitlement of the petitioner to get assigned the building number this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the secretary of the second respondent to consider the application submitted by the petitioner for assignment of a building number in respect of the shop rooms situated in 1.83 Ares of land comprised in survey No.144/9 (Re survey No. 45/7) of Manakunnam Village, the receipt of which is evidenced from Ext.P3 expeditiously and at any rate, within a period of one month from the date of production of copy of this judgment by the petitioner.
