JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioner to give police protection to the petitioner and his family members alleging that about 10 persons in the village of the petitioner, threatened him and his family members demanding money, by conducting katta panchayat.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 22.03.2017 to the respondents for appropriate action against those persons and prayed that the said representation may be directed to be considered by the respondents within a stipulated time frame.
3. Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, takes notice for the respondents and submitted that the petitioner as well as the other party, have compromised with each other and to that effect, they gave a statement to the respondent police and hence no further orders are necessary to be passed in this Criminal Original Petition. The said statement is stoutly refuted by the learned counsel for the petitioner, who claims that there is still katta Panchayat in the village.
4. Upon hearing both sides, this Court directs the respondent police to look into the matter and take appropriate action in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible.
5. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of accordingly.
