Case No.4 of 2001 on the file of the Special Court-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Chengalpattu convicting the appellant under Section 7 and Section 13(2) r/w. 13(1)(e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and imposing the sentence of 6 months rigorous imprisonment and fine amount of Rs.150/-, in default to undergo one month rigorous imprisonment and 1 year rigorous imprisonment and fine amount of Rs.150, in default to undergo ne month rigorous imprisonment respectively.
For Appellant : No appearance For Respondents : Mr.E.Raja Addl Public Prosecutor for R2 JUDGMENT When the matter was taken up for hearing on 09.03.2017, there was no representation on behalf of the appellant. Hence, the Registry was directed to list the matter today under the caption “For Dismissal”.
2. Even today also there is no representation for the appellant. It shows that the appellant does not have any interest in prosecuting this appeal. Therefore, there is no other go for this Court expecting to dismiss this appeal for non-prosecution.
Accordingly, this Criminal Appeal is dismissed for non-prosecution.
