The prayer in the Writ Petition is for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to provide an educational loan amount to meet out the petitioner's expenses pertaining to pursuing Ph.D (full time basis) research at Ganthigram Rural Institute Deemed University at Ganthigram, Dindigul District based on the representation dated 17.09.2016.
2.Heard Mr.R.Karunanidhi, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.N.Dhilip Kumar, learned counsel appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on records.
3.The learned counsel for the respondents would submit that the petitioner already availed an educational loan of Rs.1,39,000/- from the respondent bank in the year 2010 for pursuing the M.B.A. degree course and the repayment of the loan commenced from the year 2011. However, the petitioner has not paid any amount and thereafter the loan account became a Non Performing Asset (NPA). Hence, the respondents cannot consider the representation of the petitioner.
4.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that after successful completion of M.B.A course, he is now doing research in pursuing Ph.D in Ganthigram Rural Institute Deemed University at Ganthigram, Dindigul District. He further submitted that the petitioner parents have passed away and after completing the course of Ph.D, the petitioner undertakes to repay the entire loan amount.
5.In the light of the above facts, without going into the merits of the case, this Court directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders as per norms.
6.With the above direction, this Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
