JUDGMENT / ORDER

An election to the Managing Committee of the petitioner society is scheduled to be held on 07.12.2014. The petitioner Society, apprehend that, there would be volatile situation, lawlessness and even breach of peace, in view of the fact that the elections are being held on the basis of political affiliations. 2. The petitioner also apprehend that there could be instances of bogus voting and impersonation. The petitioner, therefore, seek issuance of appropriate directions to prevent breach of peace by scrupulously complying with the directions in Ext.P4 circular and by verifying the identity of the voters with reference to the records maintained in the society.
3. I have heard the Government Pleader also. I am satisfied that the directions sought for are necessary to W.P.(C) No. 32176 of 2014 (V) 2 be issued.
The writ petition is therefore, disposed of, with the following directions:
(i) The first respondent shall ensure that there is no bogus voting or impersonation by having the identity of a voter verified with reference to the Form 6B Register maintained in the society, whenever a dispute is raised regarding the identity of a voter.
(ii) Respondents 1 and 2 shall take necessary action to ensure that the services of sufficient police personnel are made available during the time of polling, in accordance with Ext.P4 circular so as to ensure that there is smooth conduct of the proceedings of the election.
