Public Prosecutor ORDER This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to provide police protection to the petitioner Sangam based on their representation dated 03.01.2017.

According to the petitioner, by order dated 29.06.2015, in SA Nos.551 to 553 of 2015, filed by the petitioner herein, this Court has directed the respondents therein not to interfere with the management of Sri Gangamman Temple, till such time, they file their counter. Despite the same, the respondents therein were interfering with the affairs and management of the temple, which forced the petitioner to seek police protection for every time. Now, the petitioner is preparing to conduct Ugadi festival, which is scheduled to be held on 29.03.2017 and 30.03.2017. Apprehending law and order situation being created by the respondents as arrayed in the second appeals, the petitioner made a representation dated 03.01.2017 seeking police protection enabling them to conduct the festival without any disturbance. Finding no response, the present petition came to be filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents and perused the documents placed before this Court.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and also taking note of the fact that by order dated 29.06.2015, this Court has already directed the respondents in the second appeals, not to interfere with the management of the temple till they file their counter, which is still in force, the respondents herein are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 03.01.2017 and provide police protection to the petitioner for the purpose as observed by this Court in the order dated 29.06.2015, in SA Nos.551 to 553 of 2015. The same will be at the cost of the petitioner.
5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
