JUDGMENT / ORDER

IN THE HIGH COURT OF JUDICATURE AT MADRAS DATED: 15.09.2017 CORAM THE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE M.DURAISWAMY W.P.No.24720 of 2017 P.Vinayagam [ Petitioner ] Vs The Tahasildhar Egmore-Nungambakkam Taluka Spurtank Road Chetpet Chennai [Respondent] Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to issue patta to the petitioners house bearing Old Door No.10/3 and New Door No.17 Pari Street Extension Choolaimedu Chennai 600 094 within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.
For Petitioner : Mr.K.A.Mariappan For Respondent : Mr.R.Rajeswaran, SGP ORDER Mr.R.Rajeswaran, learned Special Government Pleader, takes notice for the respondent and by consent, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.
2. The petitioner has filed the above writ petition to issue a writ of mandamus directing the respondent to issue patta to his house bearing Old Door No.10/3 and New Door No.17, Pari Street, Extension, Choolaimedu, Chennai 600 094, within a time frame.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that though the petitioner has given an application for patta transfer, as early as on 24.11.2016, the respondent has not issued the patta yet.
5. Mr.R.Rajeswaran, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondent may be directed to consider the petitioner's application and pass orders in accordance with law, within four weeks' time.
5. Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 24.11.2016 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
