JUDGMENT / ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the learned Special Court for CCB and CBCID Cases, Egmore, Chennai to dispose of the petition in Crl.MP No.2543 of 2016 in Crime No.196 of 2010 pending on his file, within a stipulated time as fixed by this Court.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that based on the complaint lodged by one Dr.Jawahar Palaniappan, a case in Cr.No.196 of 2010 came to be registered against the petitioner for the offences punishable under Sections 420, 465, 468 r/w 471 IPC. After due investigation, the case was closed as Mistake of Fact. Aggrieved over the same, the defacto complainant filed a protest petition, which was dismissed, against which, Crl.RC No.1483 of 2012 was filed. By order dated 21.05.2014, the said revision petition was disposed of by directing the respondent police to investigate further in accordance with law. Pursuant to the same, the respondent police conducted investigation and ultimately concluded that the petitioner has not committed any offence as alleged by the defacto complainant and filed a report to that effect, against which, the defacto complainant with an intention to harass the petitioner, again filed a protest petition in CMP.No.2543 of 2016 before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai. Subsequently, the said case was transferred to the file of the Special Court for CCB and CBCID Cases, Egmore, Chennai and is pending. Hence, this petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.
4. Having considered the facts and circumstances of the case and taking note of the fact that the case is pending against the petitioner from the year 2010, this Court directs the learned Special Court for CCB and CBCID Cases, Egmore, Chennai to dispose of the case in Crl.MP.No.2543 of 2016 in Crime No.196 of 2010 pending on his file, on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
