For Petitioner : Mr.C.Prabakaran For respondents : Mr.C.Emalias, Addl. Public Prosecutor ORDER The present criminal original petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent not to harass the petitioner.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that on the basis of a false complaint lodged by one Kuppusamy, the second respondent police is frequently calling the petitioner to the police station and harassing him under the guise of enquiry. Hence, the petition.
3. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, on instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that no such harassment was made by the second respondent police and in fact, eight complaints have been received by the second respondent police as against the petitioner on the allegation that the petitioner by giving false promise that he would get a job in the Poonamallee Court, received money from the de facto complainants and cheated them. Only based on the said complaints, the second respondent police is conducting investigation and the petitioner is required to cooperate with the police authorities with regard to the investigation to be conducted.
4. In view of the said submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the second respondent is directed to expedite the investigation on the said complaints and file final report as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is also directed to cooperate with the investigation to be conducted by the second respondent police. The present criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
