JUDGMENT / ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU.J] The petitioner is the wife of one Mr.G.Pandurangan aged 75 years. According to the petitioner, Mr.Pandurangan has been found missing from 25.01.2015 onwards. On the complaint made by petitioner, in this regard, a case has been registered in Crime No.44/2015. The grievance of the petitioner is that no steps have been taken by the respondent Police to trace the detenu, so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court with this Habeas Corpus Petition.
2. We have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the state and we also perused the records carefully.
3. The narration of the facts as made in the affidavit filed by the petitioner would go to show that there is no illegal detention of Mr.pandurangan. It is a case of simple missing of Mr.Pandurangan. The investigation is in progress. We are satisfied with the steps taken by the respondent Police. In view of the same, we are unable to grant the relief as prayed for by the petitioner.
4. In the result, the Habeas Corpus petition is dismissed however, we direct the respondent Police to expedite the investigation.
