Mr.S.Navaneethan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. By consent, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

The petitioners have filed the above writ petition to issue a writs of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to pay due compensation for their lands measuring 1.44 acres in Survey Numbers 33/6 and 33/7, Block No.27, Ward “H”of A Andipatti Village, Salem Taluk, Salem District, by considering and passing orders on their representation dated 9.5.2011.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that inspite of the petitioners representation dated 09.05.2011, the 1st respondent has not passed any order for paying the compensation to them.
4. Mr.S.Navaneethan, learned Additional Government Pleader, appearing for the respondents submitted that the 1st respondent may be directed to consider and pass orders on the petitioners' representation, in accordance with law, within eight weeks' time.
5. In view of the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, without expressing any opinion with regard to the merits of the case, I direct the 1st respondent to consider the petitioners' representation dated 09.05.2011 and pass orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
With this observation, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
