THE HON’BLE SRI JUSTICE R.KANTHA RAO WRIT PETITION NO.25412 OF 2014 ORDER:
Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Sri C.Sunil Kumar Reddy, learned Government Pleader for Transport appearing for the second respondent.
This writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 10-04-2014 for granting reimbursement of medical expenditure incurred while undergoing treatment.
It is submitted by the petitioner that he worked as Accounts Officer in the office of the first respondent and retired from service on 31-08-2004. The petitioner underwent heart operation on 14-12-2011 and the doctors performed the operation of ‘Anziogram’ and fixed a stunt and balloon in his heart as three valves were closed in his heart. The petitioner spent an amount of Rs.2,87,000/- towards surgery and medicines. He made a representation dated 11-9-2012 for reimbursement of the medical expenses and he also issued a legal notice dated 8-2-2014 to the respondents demanding to comply his request, but the respondents failed to give any reply to the said notice. He made a representation dated 10-04-
2014 to the respondents and the said representation is pending with them.
Under the circumstances stated by the petitioner, the respondents are directed to consider the representation made by the petitioner dated 10-04-2014 for grant of medical reimbursement in accordance with rules, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No order as to costs. The Miscellaneous Petitions pending if any shall stand closed.
